It’s All in the Details
What’s the secret to making a long weekend feel loooooong? Do something different each day. It may seem counterintuitive, but having activities to reminisce about at the end can help stave off the Monday scaries. No need to go overboard, though (it’s still a weekend, after all): Turns out doing simple, soul-filling things—like swimming in the ocean, enjoying a languorous meal with loved ones, or roasting marshmallows in the backyard to the flicker of fireflies—is an effective way to slow down time.
SATURDAY: ALL ABOARD
Start the weekend on a high note by packing up the cooler—a few helpful tips on how to best do that here—and hightailing it to the nearest sailable body of water with boat rentals. You’ll probably be there a while, so it’s best to bring anything you might need: snacks, skin care, an ample supply of sparkling wine…
SUNDAY: BRUNCH CHEZ YOU
Truth: Sharing a meal with people you love is how some of the best, most cherished memories are made. If that meal happens to take place at your place, atop a gorgeously appointed table—complete with linen tablecloth, Italian porcelain, and floral arrangements that last forever—even better.
MONDAY: THE LAST SOIRÉE OF THE SEASON
Your final dinner party calls for an easygoing ensemble (no need to be the hostess who does the mostest), table settings delivered to your doorstep (if you haven’t checked out the goop x Social Studies collaboration, now’s the time), and delicious after-dinner activities that’ll make the evening that much more enjoyable.
