Carlton won't offer veteran Levi Casboult a new contract, confirming on Tuesday that he would leave the club at season's end.

Casboult, 31, has battled through injuries this season to play 12 games, taking his AFL tally to 153 for the Blues; playing as a key forward and in the ruck.

He joined Carlton in the 2010 draft and debuted in Round 17 of 2012. He was the club's leading goal-kicker in 2017 but his time is now up.

"The opportunity to call Carlton home and live out my boyhood dream over the past 12 years has been incredible," Casboult said in a statement.

"To be departing the club with life membership and after reaching the 150-game milestone earlier this year, is something I am incredibly proud of and am honoured to have been able to achieve.

"So many people at this football club have shown faith in me over the course of my career and I am extremely grateful for the support I have received, both internally from a staffing and player point of view, and externally from my family, friends and all Carlton members and supporters."

Carlton coach David Teague said: "Levi has been navy blue through and through from the very first moment he stepped foot into IKON Park.

"He has experienced his fair share of ups and downs but his perseverance and determination to get the best out of himself and be an important player for Carlton has seen him become a revered member of the playing group.

"Levi leaves the club having etched his name in Carlton's history as a Life Member and he should be extremely proud of all that he has achieved across his 12-year career."

Casboult's exit from Carlton follows that of champion small forward Eddie Betts, who will hang up the boots after playing his 350th AFL game this weekend in the regular season's final round, against GWS.
