Joshua Builder, Rent the Runway's chief technology officer and head of product, will be leaving the company after four years, Business Insider has learned.

Builder was responsible for personalizing the customer experience across its mobile, web and physical retail channels, and led the technology behind the clothing rental startup's warehouse systems, customer-facing applications, and data science platform.

Builder is planning to leave at the end of May for a role at a healthcare tech company,  according to a companywide email he sent on May 11 that the company shared with Business Insider.

Jenn Hyman, Rent the Runway's co-founder and CEO said that the company was grateful to have worked with Builder over the last four years and that he would be missed.

Hyman said the company would bring on Larry Steinberg as interim chief technology officer as it searches for a permanent CTO top replace Builder. Steinberg will report to its COO Anushka Salinas. She also said that it would expand the role of its VP of product management Bradley Weill to oversee product across the organization.

Builder's departure comes on the heels of Rent The Runway's president and former chief operating officer Maureen Sullivan leaving the company last month.

Rent The Runway also recently furloughed roughly 35% of its corporate employees and cut headcount as a result of fallout from the coronavirus.
