CFO Alex Sink just announced she is promoting deputy chief financial officer Tammy Teston to serve as her chief of staff for the Department of Financial Services. The change will take effect January 2010, replacing current Chief of Staff Jim Cassady, who is leaving then to work on the Sink for Governor campaign.

“Tammy’s decades of business experience and expertise in standing up for Florida’s consumers is invaluable and she is well-prepared for this new role,” CFO Sink said in a release from her office.

In a separate release from the campaign, she said: "I have full confidence in Jim, and am pleased that he willbe joining our team."

Cassady has been Sink's chief of staff since she took office in 2007, and he worked on her CFO campaign in 2006. He is an Army veteran who spent more than three decades in the banking and finance sector.

Teston previously served as the Senior Vice President and Market Director for Bank of America Investment Services in Sarasota. She has  master's in business from Georgia State University and a bachelor's in business Administration from the University of Florida.
