The cast of Miami Social owes Flipping Out's obsessive compulsive Jeff Lewis bigtime, albeit with lots of anti bacterial lotion and perhaps a Valtrex or two. Thanks to the season premiere of Flipping Out, Miami Social's series finale drew 716,000 viewers—up a whopping 9 percent from the week before and its highest rating of the season, which isn't saying much considering how abysmal the ratings have been. Flipping Out, by contrast, drew 1.03 million viewers. Thing is, Flipping Out ran after Social, which means that some three hundred thousand plus viewers preferred not to watch our fair city portrayed as a hub of intellect and substance and waited until 10 to tune into the network. As for season two of the show that Andy Cohen, Bravo's Senior Vice President of Production and Programming, called "stupid," no official word yet if there will even be one. If you believe some of the cast members, there is definitely one in the works because, like herpes, Miami Social may disappear for a while but you can never get rid of it. One other rumor that's more intriguing is the fact that because the most buzz came from the show's resident psycho, Lina, who wasn't even technically a cast member, the original cast may be dumped and she'll get her own show. Now that's a twist ending we'd love to see!
Update: Within minutes of posting this, we heard back from a Bravo spokesperson who tells us, "The show just ended on Tuesday, so there won't be a decision on a second season for a while yet." Sounds like the fauxicalites will have a nice, long hiatus, huh?
