Count former United States Attorney General Janet Reno among the supporters for Florida Sen. Dan Gelber, who is running for state Attorney General against fellow Dem and fellow senator Dave Aronberg in the primary next fall. Reno just issued this endorsement:
“I am proud to endorse Dan Gelber for Attorney General. Dan has the gumption and spirit to make the Attorney General's office a vital force in the lives of Floridians. For more than 25 years, I have watched him as a federal prosecutor, a legislator, and a community servant. He has approached each trust with competence, integrity and passion. He will be a splendid Attorney General.”
Gelber's campaign issued a release on the endorsement, with this statement from Gelber: "I am especially honored and humbled to receive Ms. Reno's endorsement. Ms. Reno is one of Florida's great public servants who has dedicated her life to the pursuit of justice for Floridians. She knows precisely what it takes to be an Attorney General.”
