Seeking to create momentum going into its annual convention this weekend, the Florida Democratic Party just announced it collected nearly $2.5 million – its best third-quarter fundraising total in a non-election year.
Florida Democrats outraised the Republican Party of Florida in the second quarter but are not expecting a repeat performance since the GOP held its Statesman's Dinner in Orlando last month. Florida Republican officials have refused to release the results of that fundraiser.
