Democrats say a poll done by them before the congressional shake up in South Florida shows that a strong Democratic candidate could win Mario Diaz-Balart's seat.
The poll in MDB's district of 400 voters conducted Jan. 8-12 by Hamilton Campaigns pegged Diaz-Balart's popularity at under 50 percent — 44 percent — but showed President Obama with a 61 percent approval rating, a Democratic source says.
But the National Republican Congressional Committee sent over these fun facts about Mario Diaz-Balart's district: noting Republican John McCain won the district in 2008, George W. Bush won it in 2004 and in 2000.
