When suspended Broward School Board member Beverly Gallagher was arrested Sept. 23, we reported the school district swiftly removed her name and photo from the Broward schools website. Gallagher's photo also came off the wall outside the School Board's meeting room in the district's headquarters in downtown Fort Lauderdale; now an empty picture frame hangs in its place.

The latest change came to the School Board's group photo, which no longer includes Gallagher. But the district didn't retake the picture. (See the new picture below.)

The district's webmaster said Thursday that as far he could tell, folks in the graphics department used software (think Adobe Photoshop) to crop Gallagher, who previously appeared sitting on the lefthand end of the table. Then they took a fresh photo of board member Ann Murray, who was originally standing behind Gallagher, and inserted that in Gallagher's place. Magic! (You can see a tiny thumbnail of the original photo here, in the upper lefthand corner of the site. Thank you, Google.)

Meanwhile, the Broward County website still hasn't removed the page showing suspended Commissioner Josephus Eggelletion, who was arrested in the same federal corruption sting as Gallagher. A county spokesman has said there are no plans to change the website anytime soon.
