Lucas Brunelle recently revamped his website. Watch the trailer for his forthcoming DVD “Line of Sight” which features footage from various alleycats including the BFF Miami race. Below is the original trailer where at the 1:14 mark Lucas is shown following Ferny on the Venetian. The scene was omitted from the official trailer. Don’t try this at home.
PS Check out more of Lucas Brunelle’s films at the Bicycle Film Festival, coming to Miami in Winter 2010-11.

This morning I received the horrible news that 20 year old cyclist Michael Lum was struck by a motorist on US-1 & 17th Avenue. News of cycling related accidents always get me upset but this one hits a lot closer to home since Lum is a friend of mine and a friend to many who visit this blog.
Lum is currently at the Ryder Trauma Center and underwent surgery a few hours ago. He is in stable condition and sleeping. I’ve been informed that he has no health insurance so a Paypal Fund has been established to try and ease some of the financial burden his family will endure. Please consider making a donation.
Details of the accident are murky and I care not to speculate. Right now we just want to wish Lum a speedy recovery.

*A mailing address for the family will be provided as soon as possible for those that prefer to send checks.
Ride safe.
I stopped by the War Memorial Auditorium in Ft. Lauderdale this afternoon to check out the unaptly titled South Florida Bike Expo (Bike America Bike Expo). I arrived shortly after 1pm to check out the BMX demo but don’t recall actually seeing the two pro riders who were scheduled to demo. I did catch some other dudes doing some impressive riding and photographed some of them. Inside the expo there was a variety of bicycles, apparel, and accessories on sale for at least 10% off. I also checked out a few tables from various cycling clubs, advocacy groups, and sports nutrition products. It was neat that Bike America invited this groups to set up tables for free. I was surprised by the great turnout and how organized the show was. I was looking to buy a few small items but unfortunately didn’t find what I needed, instead I left the expo with a plethora of local cycling group(s)/advocacy propaganda.
If you get a chance stop by tomorrow Sunday, July 18th. I was told prices may be lowered on some items. Get there early and watch Stage 14th of the Tour de France. They’ll also have some spin demos with very good looking women at 2pm.
PS Happy B-Day Justin. Thanks for the beer, keep your eyes open.. I left some stickers throughout your city.
And another one..
Olive green Spartan fixed-gear track bike with gold rims & hubs. Stolen on July 17th from South Beach (Ocean Drive).
If you have any info contact Ryan.
