Miami Sen. Larcenia Bullard, absent from last month's special session on commuter rail because she had just suffered a heart attack, is still recuperating at home and is too weak to attend this week's committees, said Sen. Al Lawson.
Lawson, the chamber's Democratic leader, said he spoke with Bullard in recent days. She is out of the hospital but won't be coming to Tallahassee any time soon.
"She's mending," said Lawson, D-Tallahassee, "but she's got a ways to go."
